What is Qi Gong?
Qi gong is a natural exercise that is related to the more familiar tai chi, essentially it is a standing form of tai chi. Both exercises work because the precise muscle movements are designed to stimulate the flow of chi or qi through the body and the major organs. When your chi flows well, you are well.
Qi gong is also very helpful for circulation problems, it releases tension and pressure caused by slumping, the improved posture in turn improves the digestive system and removes stress from the back. There is also longer life expectancy, better general health and faster recovery from accidents.
The flowing movements result in all the joints being rotated and the full range of motion is covered. The muscles, ligaments and tendons are also strengthened, which keeps them mobile and healthy.

Those who practice qi gong and tai chi are less likely to become stiff and are less likely to suffer from lumbago, arthritis and sciatica. Improved balance and less clumsiness are also major benefits. Less expected benefits include better breathing, easier sleeping and improved efficiency of the internal organs. People also report more strength, stamina and suppleness as a direct result of practising qi gong.
There are also mental benefits too, such as a clearer more relaxed mind, ability to deal with stress better and an increased ability to focus. Those in pain find the movements easier to perform than yoga.
Qi gong is not just an exercise, it is therapy. The most important gift I can give anyone is the gift of the qi gong. It's benefits are continuous and long lasting. It can help almost any problem in many ways. I was fortunate to learn from a qi gong master back in 1992 and have practiced most days since then. I started teaching in 1994 and have taught people all over the world, who have all felt the value and benefits of this powerful therapy.
